ABSTRACT

A career is generally described as an occupation undertaken for a major portion of a person’s life with opportunities for progress. A great career tactic is to set goals for yourself many years apart. One might wish to be a technician at a shop for two years, followed by a production technician for five years, and then a venue role followed by a design focus. One are allowed to define their own timeline, but they should be realistic and flexible. Goals are great for creating a plan, but one must be willing to extend deadlines, or make radical changes due to unforeseen forces. Very few people have a career that they can look back at and say it went exactly as they expected. In fact, there are always surprises and choices along the way.
