ABSTRACT
This article describes the joint application design process (JAD) within the context of a large academic research library system. It provides background information about this technique and discusses its use as a tool to develop a design for a local acquisitions system. It describes and evaluates the Indiana University Libraries experience and considers the potential uses that JADs might have in other types of libraries and library environments.
