ABSTRACT

There are two types of audits of management systems: internal and external. Usually, the internal audit is done once or twice per year and the results (findings) are given to top management and/or to the Safety Manager. The trained auditors from the “mother” company (or maybe engaged consultant companies) will provide audits on the “daughter” companies and they will prepare reports on the performance of these companies. However, there is a possibility for Regulators to provide different type of outsourcing regarding the audits. There are two types of external audits: Second Party Audits and Third Party Audits. The Regular Audit may consist of documentation and On-Site Audits, but usually Documentation Audit is very “rudimentary.” All other types of audits are triggered by a particular “safety event “and there is no need for regularity in conducting them.
