ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a general overview of Flanagan’s naturalized moral philosophy and comparative moral psychology with his major philosophical themes (naturalization, human flourishing, neurophysicalism, minimal psychological realism, etc.). The chapter also summarizes the following chapters (criticisms and comments on Flanagan’s naturalized Buddhism, Confucianism and human flourishing) of the volume and Flanagan’s responses to them. The chapter concludes with general explanation of developing subfields of Asian comparative philosophy (analytic and naturalized Asian philosophy) where Flanagan’s naturalized and comparative approach can be properly understood.
