ABSTRACT

The final chapter seeks to highlight overriding issues in light of the documentation heretofore presented. The cycles of ideology and the process of change among their components are reconfirmed. The social ideology is clarified in terms of its nature and consequences. The social and moral implications of all the mental health ideologies are highlighted. Leadership is examined as a facilitating factor in the acceptance and efficacy of ideological motivation in health and social affairs. The dynamics of social psychiatry in academia is explored as relevant to the expectation that academia is the source of creativity and the solution of societal problems. In light of the extended histories presented, the interrelation of Erich Lindemann and community mental health is examined as an example of the contributions to history of the person and the context.
