This chapter is devoted to the axisymmetric problem of the theory of elasticity that can be also reduced to the biharmonic equation. Consider a transversely isotropic cylinder referred to cylindrical coordinates ρ, θ, z as in Figure 6.1 with coordinates ρ and z normalized to the cylinder half-length L.
