ABSTRACT
The Strategic Revolutionary Counteroffensive is a reform movement aimed at implementing the socialist principle of just payment according to the amount and quality of work. Ultimately, the Rectification Process seeks to reform the enterprise as a unit of production. Committees for the Defense of the Revolution reiterated their combativeness against antisocials and legal violations. These organizations will carry out their mandates at workplaces and neighborhoods at the grass-roots level. Buddy socialism extends to economic activities. Factories in need of raw materials make deals based on this network. Factories rotate payments according to the situation at the end of the month and possible inspections. Buddy socialism prevents denunciations when rules are violated. The occupational factor, a dimension of social stratification, brings a new light to the nature of class relationships in Cuba. There is another reason for the Defense of the Revolutions to follow the revolutionary elite.
