ABSTRACT

Not-for-profit organizations play central and important roles in the global sporting world. These organizations are involved in the management and production of events at many levels, and in how participants play their sport. They are further mandated with responsibility for various high performance, development and participation aspects of sport, not to mention needed to resource their programs. The International Olympic Committee is the global multisport federation sometimes called a multisport organization that organizes the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. National Olympic Committees are the rights-holders of the Olympic and Paralympic marks in their respective countries/jurisdictions. An international federation is a not-for-profit organization governing and overseeing one sport (or several related sports) at the global level.
