ABSTRACT

Sometimes I haven’t a clue where some ideas come from, from what ancient soil they first thrust out their shoots. An epistolary play. I do remember some time ago there existed a maudlin American play that was always doing the rounds and was not learned or acted but simply read. This enabled the ‘producers’ who purveyed this ‘easy on the ear’ stuff to hire ‘movie actors’ who never had the pain of studying or learning the bloody thing to drag in punters. My opus had to be learned. Learned very carefully and the movement blocked-out.
