ABSTRACT
This chapter describes the continuum of commercialisation and its consequences for equity. It argues that there is little scope for the reversal of commercialisation and equity concerns have been largely addressed through demand-side financing and the strengthening of primary-level care as a gatekeeper for controlling the cost of hospitalisation.
