ABSTRACT
This chapter presents brief analyses of short texts from the media and interview transcripts. The analyses are not exhaustive but suggestive of a direction that can be taken if the researcher is interested in a particular area of study. Sometimes concepts from approaches can also be combined for deeper insights into a text, yet caution needs to be exercised in doing so. Each analysis exemplifies the main approaches discussed earlier from discourse studies to critical psychology, thus linking theory to practice.
