ABSTRACT
Academic and research libraries are growing more interdependent for access to scholarly and research materials. Historically, large academic and research libraries have been the source for materials needed by other libraries. Increasingly, these libraries are being asked to build local collections but simultaneously provide access to materials not purchased locally.
