ABSTRACT

Resource sharing in research libraries is at a critical juncture. Libraries in the future will have to integrate an array of information technologies to create an information-sharing environment where the individual user can both find and have delivered the materials he or she needs. Resource sharing in the electronic environment will have to provide a variety of connection and access choices to extend user access to information that the library does not hold locally through linking to multiple information resources from a single workstation.
