ABSTRACT

This Study explains how it is possible to conduct real laboratory work in physics (mechanics) with the use of Mathcad. Methods for solving statics, kinematics and dynamics problems are examined by analyzing forces acting on material points (Newtonian approach), and by energy minimization (Lagrange’s method). Methods for visualizing solutions using static graphics and dynamic animation with the mapping of the trajectories of the moving material points are described.

Mathematics: Solving equations and systems of equations—algebraic and differential, optimization with constraints.

Physics: Equilibrium of a mechanical system, trajectory of point motion, special types of pendulums, Newton’s law, Lagrange’s principle.

IT: Communication of informatics with other disciplines—with mathematics, physics, theoretical mechanics, STEM.

Art: Averchenko’s story “The Focus of the Great Cinema”; painting a tulip on a computer.
