ABSTRACT

In this last chapter, we address the role of the consultant, both a consultant inside an organization and an external consultant expert hired to provide advice and counsel to threat assessment teams and organizations. There are several issues that can provide ethical and practical dilemmas for people in the role of consultant and we explore those from our experience and provide answers that have worked for us. This leads to a discussion of the creation, roles, staffing, and operation of, multi-disciplinary threat assessment teams, both what helps them work well and what can cause disruptions and problems.
