This chapter presents a model which provides the roadmap for a trust revolution in a school. For trust to flourish in a school, four catalyst concepts, namely:
The Zone of Uncomfortable Discussion (ZOUD)
Transactional Analysis
Growth Mindset
The Feedback Model
enable four key preconditions, namely:
The ability to speak openly
The ability to be adult
The ability to see failure as an opportunity to learn
The ability to give and receive robust, curious feedback
Once a trust-based culture is established the outcomes are:
Collaboration
Staff upskilling one another
Improved teaching and learning
Wellbeing
This chapter emphasises that building trust is not a quick fix but will enable you to stop searching and implementing stop-gap fads.
