ABSTRACT

Developed proposals for the structural design, building services systems and outline specifications are prepared. Cost Information is updated and the Project Strategies fleshed out. The design team may be expanded, perhaps with the addition of a health and safety adviser. The Developed Design, including structural, mechanical and electrical design, requires a significant level of detail to be added to the Project Information. The Core Objectives at this stage involve all design team members developing the design so that it is coordinated. The core activities at this stage are to ensure that the early assumptions are validated and achievable and are fed into the project design. As design is progressed and decisions are being made, each team member needs to look carefully at their design in terms of potential risk. The Maintenance and Operational Strategy for the project must be reviewed at this stage, to incorporate the information generated for the Developed Design.
