ABSTRACT

The importance of the Behaviour Journal will become apparent to the reader and whilst the process of recording is similar to most journals, the content and journey develop an increasing understanding of the link between behaviour and learning in the classroom for the trainees. The Behaviour Journal is specifically focused on exploring personal and professional ideas about observed behaviour as they develop. These Behaviour Journals written by the trainees can include random thoughts, lists, ideas, pictures, doodles, readings, memories, song lyrics and anything else that evidences thought. The Behaviour Journal process demonstrates how children in the classroom will solve problems with the skills they have learnt outside of schools and how these vary from the trainees’ own solutions that can conflict and create misunderstanding. The chapter also presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in this book.
