As indicated by the chapter’s title, this chapter presents the main reasons for attending the matches. It provides a convincing picture that when it comes to identity, there is almost no difference between male and female fans. Women, as the chapter reveals, demonstrate a deep passion for, and devotion to, their clubs. The emotional dimension of supporting is important for female fans, and once again, one cannot see significant differences between men and women. They depend rather on the chosen sector than gender. The chapter also indicates that some female fans perceive a football match as an excellent opportunity to spend time with friends or close ones.
