ABSTRACT
The UK government has introduced four BIM maturity levels: Level 0 ‘baseline’, which relates to 2D drawn information on paper or in CAD; Level 1 ‘standalone’, which relates to 2D and 3D drawn information; Level 2 ‘collaborative’, which is mandatory for all projects by 2016; and, finally, Level 3 – fully integrated BIM. This evolution may take time, but it will dramatically affect all construction professionals and the HSA’s role.
