ABSTRACT
The beginning of the exquisite Poem Christabess was written in the year of the Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety-seven, in Diot Street; in the parish of St Giles; the latter part, in the year one thousand eight hundred and four, in Lion Court, St George’s Fields – the intermediate seven years having been devoted to a different kind of Literature.
