ABSTRACT
First published in The Chat of the Week, I, 5 June 1830, pp. 1–2. The Chat of the Week, or Compendium of all Topics of Public Interest, Original and Select was published for the seven Saturdays from 5 June 1830 to 17 July 1830. Government pressure then forced Hunt to reformat the paper and issue it in a New Series as The Chat of the Week, and Gazette of Literature, Fine Arts, and Theatricals. In this format it was published for the six Saturdays from 24 July 1830 to 28 August 1830. Throughout its brief, thirteen week run, the paper was written and edited by Hunt.
