ABSTRACT
In this letter, the wanderer describes Mrs. Leicester as the most envious and malignant of human beings. He feels that she honoured him to suppose, that he might be captivated by the boarding school graces of her eldest hope, and to her generous intention in his favour, a sudden change from something very like rudeness to extreme civility.
