ABSTRACT

The manuscript is held at the Bodleian Library, University of Oxford, as Eng. Lett. c. 461, f. 103 and f. 116. It consists of two fragments of white paper, written on both sides in blue ink: 103 measures 92 by 160 mm, and 116 measures 135 by 134 mm. There are no watermarks. The two fragments originally formed a single piece, cut in turn from a larger written sheet. Thus the text on 103 r. continues on 116 r., but both carry only incomplete lines from the original larger sheet. 116 r. is written in two columns, but only a few words of the right hand column remain. The line ‘An opus operatim…’ is written vertically up the left margin. After cutting, each of the resulting two fragments was written on the verso. 103 v. carries a set of notes related to ‘The Vision of Sudden Death’.
