ABSTRACT

This chapter integrates Kolb’s experiential learning cycle, with some examples from the undergraduate coaching program in which I work, to show how experiential learning can be incorporated throughout an undergraduate curriculum, and not just in its internships. Experiential learning-type activities are possible and worthwhile for coaches in different settings, from the classroom to the laboratory to the field. In presenting these examples, I show how practice can be informed by theory, suggest some aspects of which to be mindful when coach developers design experiential learning-type activities for different settings, and share lessons learned.
