ABSTRACT

This chapter is concerned with defining three concepts: Social Irresponsibility (SI), Corporate Social Irresponsibility (CSI), and Unethical Leadership (UL). The work of renowned authors in the field (particularly Armstrong) draw attention to the fact that UL is clearly linked to SI and CSI, given that all three depict immoral behaviours directed towards others (as described in Chapter 1) whether external to and/or within the organisation. Thus, the chapter focuses mainly on the comparisons between the three concepts, and provides Activity Areas which contain SI, UL, and CSI definitions, providing a snapshot of the similarities between them.
