ABSTRACT
Founded in 1976, Info/motion was a home-based information business located in the Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts. Over the next decade, until its sale in 1986, the company grew from a one-person operation to a high of seven, often part-time staff. This article is a personal recollection about being the boss, and about the evolution from one-person shop to employer. It is about the management of people: finding them, training them, losing them.
