ABSTRACT
The New York State Library has a mission to provide reference, information and loan service to the legislative, judicial, and executive branches of the state government. The special nature of government information needs imposes extraordinary requirements on the library’s information services. This paper describes the programs the library has developed in response to its users’ information needs.
