ABSTRACT

The information center, or special library in its narrow sense, exists, as its name implies to provide information to the organization of which it is a part, in furtherance of the goals of the organization. It is not designed to be an educational resource or a cultural center, nor does it normally attempt to fulfill an archival or preservation function for its organization. Those working in it are employed to gather, organize, and provide information in an accurate and timely manner to other employees of the organization who will use this information in their own work for the organization.
