ABSTRACT
This chapter explains the cost-benefit analysis to compare alternatives for energy efficiency measures for building components. Generally, building components for energy efficiency have different initial and operating costs. In this situation, analysis of life-cycle cost parameters can be helpful in decision making. Concepts of life-cycle analysis are discussed through simple and discounted payback period and internal rate of return. This chapter also describes a method for performing sensitivity and uncertainty analysis.
