Lighting and Controls
As daylight varies throughout the day, it alone cannot provide targeted illuminance levels the whole day. Sensors can be used to measure the deficit in the illuminance levels and can control the artificial lighting to provide the balance lumens. The operating level of artificial lights in daylit areas can be varied to achieve energy savings. Energy simulation tools are capable of handling this phenomenon. This is explained via two tutorials in this chapter. The third tutorial explains daylight simulations.
