ABSTRACT

In a centralized heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) system, low-side components such as fans, ducts, heat recovery and an air-side economiser are used to deliver and managing cool air to spaces. Energy savings potential from an air-side economizer and heat recovery based on dry bulb temperature and enthalpy for a particular location are discussed in this chapter. This chapter also covers the use of demand control ventilation to limit outside air quantities based on zone air carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration to save energy.
