ABSTRACT

After the reign of the Ming Emperor Wanli, class and social contradictions intensified because of the complete corruption of the ruling group. In the northeastern region, the Jurchen people raised troops to oppose the Ming rule, established a regime and launched a sustained war against the Ming dynasty. In northwest and north China, peasant uprisings were widespread. Because of the Ming dynasty’s financial difficulties and military decline, it faced enemies in the front and rear and was finally overthrown and wiped out.
