Great global leaders can’t help but notice these differences as they move from place to place. Managing uncertainty and balancing tensions are at the heart of perspective. Uncertainty is common in every business. Every day, leaders face a staggering number of questions that may not have obvious answers. In a national environment, managers become accustomed to paying particular attention to trusted institutions or respected members of society. Many global leaders also confront high levels of uncertainty that are unintentionally built into their organization’s structure.
