ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces and reinforces a modular and detail-oriented approach to editing and post-production structure. The “pizza paradigm” approach to editing is encouraged, where audio elements provide a unifying “crust” – like element upon which additional “topping” elements are added. Attention to detail is a consistent theme, particularly when preparing an edit for client and third-party approval, when sensitive design and message-oriented elements are rendered according to strict, professional specifications. Careful element preparation and attention to detail is also important since “completion” of a project is defined as a state where all technical and creative objectives are achieved to the satisfaction of all involved stakeholders (clients, producers, and associated creatives).
