ABSTRACT

Genome-level sequence information is of great importance to modern phylogenomics, and it, along with other genetic data, is stored in large international databases. Specific data sets may be held in specialized repositories, such as the FlyBase (https://flybase.org/" xmlns:xlink="https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">https://flybase.org/) for Drosophila. Open access and availability of unprocessed data for further scientific inquiry are crucial for sequence databases. Publication information is archived in the PubMed database. Extensive sequence information may be retrieved from GenBank. Whole genomes may also be accessed through the Genome Page of NCBI.
