ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the structure of the sessions in the pilot; the rationale for the structure; its impact on the experience of group; and a review of session one, which was the introductory session. It presents the nuances of good adult workplace learning, nuances which are sometimes taken for granted. Each session of the pilot had broadly the same structure to it; this is called "constructive alignment", where learning design and pedagogy reflects learning outcomes. The session structure functioned to keep steady and the participants safe. The sessions and pilot structure also paid attention to people's different learning styles. The chapter also presents session structure. These are arrive, welcome and centre, introduce the session, cover any questions or feedback, discuss the system in hand and any relationship to any other systems, learning and reflection, surprises, learnings, satisfactions and dissatisfactions and headline the next session subject and any reflection to do.
