ABSTRACT

Many people living in your community, as well as some staff, came of age during a time when being LGBT was taboo or considered a mental illness, and they may still hold negative views about LGBT people. LGBT community members may be more vulnerable to bullying or other forms of aggression and discrimination by their neighbors. This chapter outlines ways to identify, prevent, and respond to conflict between residents and how to support staff in creating an environment where everyone can live free from bullying.
