ABSTRACT

Chapter 12 gives special attention to the management group. This group has an important real and symbolic function in the leadership of the organisation. At the same time, its special characteristics can make it difficult for the management group to cooperate in a mature way. Specifically, it can be difficult to create good teamwork in management groups. Through a number of case vignettes and illustrations it is shown how management groups have a significant impact on the cooperation between departments and individuals in an organisation.

Therefore, management groups need management. The chapter concludes with some advice for managers of management groups.
