ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on the public order crimes of prostitution, drunkenness, and drug use. Much of the behavior in public order offenses provides an economic commodity for both those who offer the service or product and the dominant culture that receives it. Two alternatives to the criminalization and the legalization of public order crimes—problem solving approaches and harm reduction approaches—are discussed.
