ABSTRACT

It is a delicate task to write about people still living. Therefore this part of my diary will be limited to general observations. During my own stay at the Ashram, among Westerners represented, there were three Americans, two ladies and a gentleman; an Englishman who had been living in the compound for fourteen years; an English lady who came soon after my arrival; also some French people, a Jew, two Poles and a German. With few exceptions my time was fully occupied with my own problems and with Maharshi. I did not wish to enter any social life. The main meeting place was the hall of the Ashram, and naturally the temple where Maharshi spent most of his time giving Darshan.
