ABSTRACT

Sheila Buckley has served within the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) in several staff and managerial positions, covering Latin American and African Affairs, Security Assistance, and long range Security Policy Planning. She is now working on arms control issues as the Director for Multilateral Negotiations in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy. In 1990, as a result of her work in chemical weapons arms control, Ms. Buckley was awarded the Department of Defense Distinguished Civilian Service Award. She serves on the Advisory Board of the professional society Women in International Security and is a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies.
