ABSTRACT
Accommodation to the surrounding world is the outcome for most new religious movements in the long run if they survive. Denominationalisation is the best known form of such an accommodation to worldly values and practices, although it is by no means inevitable. The ‘established’ sect, e.g. Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Hutterites, Exclusive Brethren, etc., is another form which survival without absorption may take.
