ABSTRACT
In several respects, Bob and Carol Curtis fit the prototype of the yuppy couple. Both are well educated and highly successful professionals; Bob is a department administrator for a social service agency and Carol is a consultant to a prominent advertising firm in Chicago. Both have a strong achievement orientation and both find fulfillment in their respective careers. Neither are particularly religious—at least in the conventional sense.
