ABSTRACT

This chapter explores toolkit and learning in building this culture of sustainable continuous improvement across the institution. Together these tools interlink to support a continuous improvement culture that is proactive, responsive and student focused. Measures for Staff Experience monitor the impact on job satisfaction using a range of staff engagement and people indicators. A palpable dip in engagement and therefore the delivery of identified improvements could occur which allowed medium/long term plans for service improvement to gather dust in a dark corner the office, or a disused folder. The scale and characteristics are being utilised by managers to provide an overall direction to head in, which is seeing teams strive towards the “Leading” end of the continuum. The importance of senior management endorsement and challenge is critical. Leadership workshops support leadership groups to collectively explore the crucial leadership role in support of problem solving and improvements and service delivery.
