ABSTRACT

As once Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting’s intended audience, recent Iranian migrants from the United Kingdom and Canada participated in surveys and interviews, which contained questions based on the results of the data laid out in Chapters 5 and 6. This chapter analyzes the results of data obtained from the surveys and face-to-face interviews in order to elucidate whether these migrants, who are recent enough to remember their exposure to the Iranian television and not old enough to be part of the established Iranian diaspora, recognize the dichotomy that exists in the use of human rights language in the news, and whether they accept or reject it. The participants were also questioned about their general knowledge of human rights to see if such recognition is valid.
