ABSTRACT
An introduction to the topics is followed by the multiplication of algebraic expressions, use of brackets and factorisation. Solution of simple equations is explained with worked examples. Introduction to dimensional analysis is followed by its limitations and the principle of homogeneity. Arithmetic progression and geometric progression are explained and a range of worked examples included to show their practical application. An end of chapter exercise is included to reinforce the learning involved in this chapter.
