ABSTRACT
This chapter describes the fact that their adolescent girls spend so much time in thinking of their clothes and their hair styles! Instead we should be profoundly thankful that those girls have a real enthusiasm for something, not only harmless, not only natural, but so completely right for their age. An adolescent girl, clothes become a kind of symbol for the adulthood she strives towards. This interest in clothes and in personal appearance is of absorbing interest to adolescent girls, and that that is not merely quite natural but fundamentally right, then we can consider its place in our scheme of things. This provided with hair (painted, or sewn on with wool, artificial hair or silk) and complexion and eyes to match her prototype. It is amazing how so many of those who paint beautiful pictures do not see that clothes rely to a great extent on the same basis of pleasing proportions, combination of colours and contrast of textures.
