ABSTRACT

61 A 7-month-old male Miniature Poodle has been provisionally diagnosed with meningoencephalomyelitis of unknown origin (MUO) on the basis of history, clinical signs, and cerebrospinal fluid analysis (see Question 136 for full history and workup) and has pending serology for CNS infectious organisms. Unfortunately, owner resources are limited and the dog showed rapid deterioration to the point of requiring mechanical ventilation. The dog was humanely euthanized and the body submitted for necropsy examination. Figure 61.1 shows a representative section of central nervous system tissue, stained with hematoxylin and eosin. https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9780429401725/9d69b4ae-80d1-4f44-9dcb-659cda134065/content/fig61_1_C.jpg"/>
