ABSTRACT

135 A 20-year-old female spayed cat was diagnosed 4 years earlier with azotemia and chronic renal insufficiency following exposure to melamine-tainted cat food. She presents with an owner concern of reduced appetite and lethargy over the last 24 hours. The cat has also vomited once in the last 24 hours. Abdominal ultrasonography shows marked loss in corticomedullary distinction and dilation of the renal pelvis in both kidneys (Figure 135.1). Pertinent results from clinical chemistry, urinalysis, and blood pressure measurement are given below. https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9780429401725/9d69b4ae-80d1-4f44-9dcb-659cda134065/content/fig135_1_C.jpg"/>
